Trying the hatches and preparing the benches

Hatches are very usefull thngs on boats, specially those intended for cruising. Used as permanent or temporary storage of goods, such as water bottles, food or other boating or leisure gear, hatches are never in excess yet cost a HUGE amount of money. That's why around the world people have been building their own wooden hatches to store things on their boats. Wood would also blend with the material of the boat more easily.
Here are pictures of the first-ever hatch dad built by himself. He tried in the same wood we once did our tests that gave us so much confidence that we could build a boat.

It blends in.

Now the real hatches will be made in the wood of the benches and of the cabin compartments.

The large bench on starboard side

Smaller port side seat due to the addtion of a "head" (toilet) on that side.

Big gap where the head would be installed.
